My NZ’s home garden in spring. It is the middle of winter in NZ right now. Hope to be back there for summer this year. I feel blessed that I can be there when the flowers are blooming and the sun is shining and then during the NZ’s infamous wet winter months I retreat to my other home where it’s summer all year round.
The back breaking work of gardening, weeding, pruning, composting, organic pests controls are well worth the joy of being able to eat home grown juicy fruits, being able to smell the sweet scent of various kind of blossoms and getting tickled by soft blades of grass beneath my feet. I missed the persimmon season this year and I am glad nothing has gone to waste and the neighbours are enjoying the fruits. Might have to ask them to freeze some for us. Frozen persimmons are great dessert for summer time.
